Statement of Faith, Purpose
and Vision

We believe:

God is Creator: In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth…In Him, all things were created. We apply this belief by gathering regularly to praise and worship God in whose image we were all created, by acknowledging that likeness in others and responding to their needs, and by being good stewards of all He has provided.

(Gen. 1:1; Ps. 19:1-2; Matt. 25:34-36; Col. 1:15-16)

God is Three Persons: God exists eternally and in perfect harmony as God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. The Son, Jesus, is the exact representation of God the Father and the Holy Spirit is the spiritual presence of God within us. We believe “that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, that He was buried, that He was raised on the third day” (1 Cor. 15:3-4). We apply this belief by receiving the Son into our hearts and following the guidance of the Spirit to produce the fruit of His nature: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.

(Matt. 3:16-17; Mark 1:10-11; Gal. 5:22-23; Hebrews 1:3)

God Speaks Through His Word: The Bible is God’s living Word and the reference point for all aspects of our lives. His Word inspires our thoughts, words and deeds. We apply this belief by listening to Scripture as we worship; by studying it, alone and in small groups; and by depending on it as the essential guide in all relationships and service to God.  (2 Tim. 3:16-17)

God is Love:  When sin entered the world through the disobedience of Adam, God separated Himself from mankind because He is holy; but God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son [Jesus] that whoever believes in him shall… from that moment on be eternally restored to God. We apply this belief by acknowledging Jesus as our personal Savior and nurturing an ongoing relationship with Him daily that empowers us to turn away from sin, to love one another profoundly – even our enemies, and to share this life-saving Gospel with all people in our path. (Gen. 3:22-24; Matt. 5-7)

We follow:

God’s command to His people, “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength.”  Deuteronomy 6: 5

Jesus’ command to His disciples, “Love one another as I have loved you, by this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.” John 13:34-35

The Apostle Paul’s instructions:  that all of the commandments are summed up in this one rule, “love your neighbor as yourself.”  Romans 13: 9

We gather:

as a Church for worship, Biblical teaching, baptism, the Lord’s Supper, fellowship, and to grow together in our ability to express the love of God to one another and to our communities.

We strive:

to facilitate individual relationships with Jesus that produce spiritually mature people whose lives are marked by love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.

We envision:

a community where there is an obvious openness and love for everyone; where people get to know and support each other through small group gatherings, Bible Study, and prayer; where there is a strong emphasis on building a personal relationship with Jesus; where the majority of people are involved in serving on a ministry team within the Church and carrying that spirit of servanthood into our communities; and where the organizational structure is flexible enough to accommodate change.
